Hiram Perez is Rocket Learning’s founder and a passionate advocate for education reform. Under his leadership, Rocket Learning has successfully served more than 140,000 students that have achieved significant academic gains in math and literacy. Hiram specializes in managing the implementation of large scale educational transformation initiatives based on leading edge pedagogical methods.

Earlier in his career Hiram spent 8 years as a Senior Manager for Accenture’s international management consulting practice. There he led teams that advised large global organizations on how to improve their performance.

Hiram’s academic preparation included:

• Masters in Education and a Masters in Business Administration (with honors) from Stanford University. There he won the prestigious Arjay Miller Award.
• Masters in Applied Math (operations research) from Cornell University.
• Bachelors in Industrial engineering from Penn State University.

Rocket Learning founder Matthew Mugo Fields has spent most of his life developing and managing educational programs for at-risk youth. He brings this deep expertise to Rocket Learning’s work of providing innovative educational products and tutoring services to public schools throughout the nation.

A serial education entrepreneur, Mr. Fields previously founded BEST Education Partners, Inc. (BEST), an education services company focused on restructuring public schools and delivering tutoring services to students in need. In 2003, BEST was acquired and Mr. Fields joined the executive management team of the acquiring company.

Mr. Fields started his career as a consultant in the Telecommunications and Strategy practice groups of Deloitte Consulting. He also served as a teacher and tutor in several inner-city public schools.

Matthew is an honors graduate of Morehouse College and was one of the first people to simultaneously earn masters degrees in business and education at Harvard University. While in graduate school, he led the team that created the first education company to win the prestigious Harvard Business Plan Contest.
